چکیده

The cosmological particle horizon is the maximum measurable length in the Universe. The existence of such a maximum observable length scale implies a modification of the quantum uncertainty principle. Thus due to non-locality of quantum mechanics, the global properties of the Universe could produce a signature on the behaviour of local quantum systems. A Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) that is consistent with the existence of such a maximum observable length scale lmax is ∆x∆p ≥ ~ 2 1 1−α∆x2 where α = l −2 max ' (H0/c) (H0 is the Hubble parameter and c is the speed of light). In addition to the existence of a maximum measurable length lmax = 1 √ α , this form of GUP

Dilaton Cosmology, Noncommutativity and Generalized Uncertainty Principle

The effects of noncommutativity and of the existence of a minimal length on the phase space of a dilatonic cosmological model are investigated. The existence of a minimum length, results in the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP), which is a deformed Heisenberg algebra between the minisuperspace variables and their momenta operators. We extend these deformed commutating relations to the cor...

A Dark Energy Model Characterized by the Age of the Universe

Quantum mechanics together with general relativity leads to the Károlyházy relation and a corresponding energy density of quantum fluctuations of space-time. Based on the energy density we propose a dark energy model, in which the age of the universe is introduced as the length measure. This dark energy is consistent with astronomical data if the unique numerical parameter in the dark energy mo...

Canonical thermostatics of ideal gas in the frame work of generalized uncertainty principle

The statistical consequences of minimal length supposition are investigated for a canonical ensemble of ideal gas. These effects are encoded in the so-called Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) of the second order. In the frame work of the considered GUP scenario, a unique partition function is obtained by using of two different methods of quantum and classical approaches. It should be noti...

Why there is something so close to nothing : towards a fundamental theory of the cosmological constant

The cosmological constant problem is turned around to argue for a new foundational physics postulate underlying a consistent quantum theory of gravity and matter, such as string theory. This postulate is a quantum equivalence principle which demands a consistent gauging of the geometric structure of canonical quantum theory. We argue that string theory can be formulated to accommodate such a pr...
